Manaslu Round Trek was officially opened in 1991 before this European pioneer Tilman set eyes upon the Manaslu Himal in 1950. Mt. Manaslu 8163 m is eight highest mountains in Nepal. After crossed the Larkye Pass 5160 m and entering Annapurna Region on departing Bimtang the Manaslu Trek descents along the bank of the Dudh Khola, the milky river that spills into the Marsyangdi and joins The Annapurna circuit trail at Dharapani and continue up to Manang, but Manaslu round trekking take down valley to Tal – Chamje – Ghyarmu and Bahun danda to Bhulbule – Besisahar. Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrival in International Airport Kathmandu Nepal (1400 m/ 4600 ft)

    Well come to Alaya Holidays! We will pick up you from Tribhuvan International Airport and drop to your hotel where we have booked. After taking rest for hours, we'll give you the brief description about Manaslu Round Trek.

  • Day 2

    Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing (1400 m/ 4600 ft)

    You will be visiting the medieval town Kathmandu, where lies some the cultural heritage site declared by UNESCO. Nepal’s largest Buddhist shrine Bouddhanath, Holy temple of Hindus Pashupatinath, 2,500 years old Buddhist shrine Swayambhunath and the ancient Royal Palace at Kathmandu Durbar Square. You will also get time for trek preparation and shopping in the afternoon.

  • Day 3

    Drive from Kathmandu to Dhading to Arughat Bazaar (550 m/ 1804 ft/ 7-8 hrs)

    In the morning, we will leave Kathmandu for Manaslu Round Trek driving through the beautiful countryside. Arughat is a small town which is at the right side of Dhading and left side of Gorkha district exploring the surrounding area and overnight at the camp near the Buri Gandaki River.

  • Day 4

    Arughat Bazaar-Arkhet Bazaar to Soti hola (710 m/ 2329 ft/ 5-6 hrs)

    On our first journey through we will cross the bridge and walk through Gurung, Magar and Newar villages on the less vehicle road and is walk left bank of Buri Gandaki River. Which you will be following to source of Buri Gandaki, field, beautiful waterfall, wet rice, maize and millet are the main crops and some time we can see monkey in the forest. After this place we walk through Mangaltar, Arkhet Bazaar and continue to Kuerepani. Climb on stairs as the valley becomes wilder, prettier and narrow and descend to Soti Khola 710 m near the Buri Gandaki River over night at lodge.

  • Day 5

    Sotikhola-Labubensi-Khanebensi to Machha Khola (869 m/ 2851 ft/ 5-6 hrs)

    Through the shady Sal forest we will climb up and down for some time to reach Labubensi 884mtrs. Following Buri Gandaki river as well as Gurung village Khanibensi and continue up-river, climbing sometimes and at other times down on the jungle and crossing through cliff so we have to becare when you are walking this trekking trail some time it may problem of traffic of trekkers, local people and donkeys where is very narrow trail just one.”Safe Side”, I mean give turn to donkey if they are coming through other side. Finally, we reach Machha Khola Gurung village near Fish River (Machha Khola) and Buri Gandaki Over night at lodge.

  • Day 6

    Machha Khola-Khorla Bensi-Tatopani and Dovan to Jagat (1400 m/ 4593 ft/ 7-8 hrs)

    Day is Starting point cross the Machha Khola then passing through large Gurung Villages are way above the track passes few houses, like lower Khorla Bensi 960mtrs which was largely destroyed by a huge rocks before 22 years ago as well as they sell own their organic coffee and continue up and down over a couple of ridge to Tatopani 930mtrs (hot spring) where there are hot water spout under the sheer cliff. Climb up- River a ridge and cross Buri Gandaki on a rickly suspension bridge and arrive Dovan 1070mtrs, which is place of lunch break. After lunch passing the Thulo Dunga, Yaru phant as well as cross the left bank Buri Gandaki then we will reach neatly flagstoned Gurung village where jagat is collected on Tibetan trade and checking point of Manaslu Conservation Area Project permit over night at lodge Jagat.

  • Day 7

    Jagat-Sirdibas-Philim-Ekle Bhatti-Nyak to Pewa (1750 m/ 5741 ft/6-7 hrs)

    After a 10 minutes cross the suspension bridge of Dudha Pokhari Khola and walk slidly up hill to salleri then walk through Nepali flat and view of Sringi Himal 7161mtrs then climbing up and down to the Sirdibas and cross a Buri Gandaki suspension bridge and climb up to Philim around 45 minutes then have hungry lunch. Having lunch in Philim walking mountain flat through Eklebhatti and New Bridge (this place is junction of the way to Tsum Valley on the right side up hill) and we follow left way crossing the old suspension bridge after 20 minutes reach in Nyaksuch a way walking through jungle way to Pewa over night at lodge.

  • Day 8

    Pewa-Deng-Rana-Bihi Phedi to Ghap (2165 m/ 7102 ft/5-6 hrs)

    This is quite short day compare other the trail enters a steep uninhabited gorge and descends through grassy slopes dotted with tall Pine trees via Budhi Gandak beyond Deng recross to the east bank and climb up to Rana 1980mtrs and pass the trail up to Bhi Phedi 2130mtrs. The river roars below except one place where a rock fall has created a huge dam, continue in and of canyons cross the Serang Khola then reach a pro village after that again cross a old suspension of Buri Gandaki the after some minutes you will you day place Ghap over night at lodge.

  • Day 9

    Ghap – Namrung – Bihi to Lho (3180 m/ 10432 ft/5-6 hrs)

     Day walk through beautiful rhododendron with many birds, staying on the south bank, cross north on a wooden bridge with a deafening narrow ravine below then cross back to the south bank on a second old wooden bridge with langurs. The trail climb up on well made stairs to Namrung which quite good place where is hydro power trekking permit check point and view of Sringi Himal and Ganesh Himal such a way we go head to Lihi (place for lunch) Lamagaun (view point of Himalchuli) and continue walking then will reach to Lho which is good place for trekkers due to Ribung Gompa and excellent view of Mt. Manaslu 8163mtrs and other snow peaks from the mani wall at the far end of the village and from the Gompa on the hill to the west walk up over night at lodge.

  • Day 10

    Lho-Syala to Samagaun (3525 m/ 11564 ft/3-4 hrs)

    This is short day takes you into the mountains with time to enjoy and acclimatize. Easy walk to Syala 3510mtrs up a pine and rhododendron gully with moss and gin clear stream. Enjoy 360 degree views from here due to a fire and extensive deforestation. Another easy hour to the large village of Samagaun 3520mtrs, losing the gigantic views of Mt. Manaslu but entering a world of yaks, pastures and houses which seem have grow from the stone under the Mt. Manaslu.

  • Day 11

    Rest day in Samagaun for acllimatization.

    This is full day rest, relax day so you can wash your clothes and read your book and taking hot shower or acclimatize day for Larkya Pass 5135mtrs which day you can hike to Punggyen Gomba, Manaslu Base Camp as well as Monastry of Sama village and can visit Birendra Tal for day hike over night at lodge.

  • Day 12

    Samagaun to Samdo (3875m/ 12713 ft/ 3-4 hrs)

    Toay walk is short because of the high elevation the trail goes through via the iceberg-covers Birendra Tal 3450mtrs under the Mt. Manaslu glacier, wade the exit stream depending on the time of year and drop to pick up the main trail from Sama to Samdo. Easy walking through Yak pastures up a broad valley with long mani walls, marmots in all directions standing on their burrows. Eventually, leave the tree line behind, although low-lying juniper is all around, climbing to a ridge and drop to cross the Buri Gandaki on a wooden bridge. It takes some time to reach the white Kani above but immediately behind is Samdo 3875mtrs. The path passing through the Samdo can see the main track for Tibet over the Lajyang La 5098mtrs sloping up the right hand valley. The Larkye La trail is ahead and left. The track to Tibet is currently closed but stocks of timber are being carried up to Samdo by yak in expectation of resumption of trade. The nearest Tibetan town is only one day away from Samdo over night at lodge.

  • Day 13

    Samdo-Larkye Bazaar to Dharamsala (4460 m/ 14632 ft/3-4 hrs)

    Trail slightly up hill to the mythical Larka Bazaar, from here people go to Tibet way through Lajyang Bhanjyang 4998mtrs as well as Gyala Bhanjyang 5375mtrs which used to be a flourishing market but there is nothing remaining there now. Another mani wall marks the starting of ascent to the pass where the trail starts climbing through juniper; the huge Larkya Glacier coming from Mt. Manaslu 8163mtrs can be seen from here. Stay on the ridge to the right to find a trail that crosses over the top of two ravines. The trail climbs up the side of a gorge to view point at the edge of a huge gorge at 4000mtrs. Near the Larkya Glacier, we reach Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi, Larkye Rest house) where there is a small lodge over night at Daramsala 4460mtrs.

  • Day 14

    Dharamsala – Larkye Pass (5160 m/ 16928 ft) to Bimthang (3590 m/ 11778 ft/ 7-8 hrs)

    Day climb gradually over the ridge behind Dharamsala and beside the large lateral moraine of the Larkye Glacier. The climb is not very difficult but it is long and rocky underfoot, particularly as you top the moraine. Look for cairns and metal snow poles which assist route finding. Descend past four frozen lakes and make a final tiring climb to the left up to Larkya La 5160mtrs, the is top marked by pray flags hanging on snow poles. It takes about 3-4 hours to reach the pass and it can be very cold and windy with risk if there is late afternoon. The peaks to the west are Himlung Himal 7126mtrs near Tibet and Kang Guru 6981mtrs, Annapurna II 7937mtrs range and other peaks. The way long descent on lose gravel to a welcome more level area with grassy moraine, where the angle eases. The trail now runs left of the large lateral moraine, rocky at times, in a widen and beautiful valley all the long way to very scenic Bimtang 3590mtrs “plain of sand” a descent of 1400mtrs in about 3-4hours ant over night at lodge.

  • Day 15

    Bimthang – Yak Kharka-Karche-Gho to Tilije (2300 m/ 7545 ft/6-7 hrs)

    After the breakfast trek start to walk and after 25 minutes we cross the Kechakyu Khola Glacier and enter the rhododendron forest. If you are season of March and April will see the paradise of rhododendron forest with different colors. The view of the back of Mt. Manaslu 8163mtrs is equally stunning. The way is down rapidly along the true right bank of the aptly name Karche 2700mtrs, which is place to have lunch after 3-4hours day walk. Then way steeply over a point and drop to Gurung village Gho 2515mtrs the first real village after the Samdo. The valley becomes more agricultural as you pass through field, copses of oak and rhododendron and over night at Gurung village Tilije.

  • Day 16

    Tilije – Dharapani – Tal to Chamje (1430 m/ 4691 ft/5-6 hrs)

    Exit the village through a stone curve, cross the Dudh Khola and follow along it`s descending through scrub forest. The walls of the Marsyangdi Valley loom larger and finally join Annapurna circuit trail of Dharapani village which is check point of ACAP permit and we descent to follow the Marsyangdi Gorge pass through Thonje via wooden bridge and through a Chorten-shaped arch and Dharapani lies across a long suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi. Then will reach Katre 1850mtrs and Tal 1700mtrs for hungry lunch. After lunch we should walk around 2 hours for day camp in Chamje over night at lodge.

  • Day 17

    Chamje – jagat – Ghermu to Bahundand (1310 m/ 4297 ft/5-6 hrs)

    From this place we should walk through road continue to Jagat and until the Syange then after Syange we should cross the suspension bridge of Marshyangdi river and trail passing through rice terraces, along a steep vertical cliff, lush forests, and some gurung villages, water fall then climb up to hill at Bahundanda 1310mtrs overnight at a lodge.

  • Day 18

    Bahundanda – Nadi Bazaar – Bhulbule to Besisahar (760 m/ 2493 ft/5-6 hrs)

    Last day walk in mountain and trail goes all the way down to Ustabensi and cross the old suspension bright of Nagdi Khola on the left side and continues to Ngadi Bazar of Gurung, Tamang settlement. After 40minutes we will reach Bulbule following the Marsyangdi River then we have lunch in Bulbule. After the lunch we can decide all the way walk to Besisar or over night at lodge and take a bus to Kathmandu next morning which is depend on clients. If we walk to Besisahar we can take walking trail left to the Marsyangdi River passing through the Gurung village Simal chaur, Badagaun, Khasur, Bhanjakhet and again cross suspension bridge of Marsyangdi River to Right site then walk 30minuts to Besisahar over night at logde.

  • Day 19

    Besisahar to Kathmandu 1350mtrs/ 6-7 hours by Drive

    Besisahar is a District Headquarter of Lamjung District. We can get private and local bus as well as can catch mini bus to Kathmandu through Prithivi Highway and follow the Marshyangdi River passing several Gurung, Magar and other villages to reach Dumre Bazaar continue follow high way to Muglin and along the high way follow Himalaya rafting river Trishuli River then back to Capital city of Kathmandu 6-7hours over night at lodge.

  • Day 20


    Our representative will drop you at the Airport three hours prior to the scheduled flight. We hope you will have a memorable time with us in Nepal and wish to serve you again.
