Overview

The largest National Park in Terai, Bardia National Park is expanded over 968sq km of an area. The area of National Park not only covers area Babai River Valley to eastern edge of Karnali River but it is stretched up to Churia Hills in the north and Geruwa River to the west while the southern border is demarked by Nepalgunj- Surkhet Highway.

Bardia National Park Tour is an exciting adventure to the core of thick Sal forest which is vibrant with many colorful flowers and wildlife. Above 30species of mammals like langur monkey, sloth bears, rare one horned rhinoceros have made their shelter in the forest of National Park. Many amphibians like gharial crocodiles can be found in Babai River valley. Karnali is the only River where Gangetic Dolphins can be found. Babai River Valley is a paradise for birdwatchers. More than 250 species of local and migratory birds can be found in Bardia National Park. Bengal Florican, Kingfishers and herons are most commonly sighted birds.

Alaya Holidays conducts 7-days Bardia National Park Tour itinerary. After taking Kathmandu to Nepalgunj flight, we will take 2hrs of drive to Bardia National Park from where Jungle Safari begins. Bardia Jungle Safari provides many opportunities of photo shooting and nature sightseeing. Spring (Mar to May) and autumn (Oct to Dec) are best season for Bardia Jungle Safari.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1400 m/ 4600 ft)

    After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will need to go through a custom check and visa formalities. As you exit from the Arrival Hall, you will find our representative waiting for you with placard in their hand. Check your name in the placard. After receiving you, he will transfer you to the Three-Star hotel. Get refreshed and later, you will be getting brief instructions regarding your trip. Explore the surrounding area and have a comfortable stay.

  • Day 2

    Sightseeing in Kathmandu (1400 m/ 4600 ft)

    This is the day in which you will be observing the medieval city Kathmandu with our tour guide. Out of 10 cultural heritage site recognized by UNESCO in Nepal, 7 lie in Kathmandu Valley while 4 of them exist in Kathmandu. You will get to visit Nepal’s largest Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath at Bouddha, Holy temple of Hindus Pashupatinath, 2,500 years old Buddhist shrine of Swayambhunath at Swayambhu and the ancient Royal Palace at Kathmandu Durbar Square visit with French Speaking Guide. You will get time for trek preparation and shopping in the afternoon and preparing for Budhathum.

  • Day 3

    Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and Drive to Bardia National Park (575 m/ 1886 ft)

    After our breakfast early in the morning, we will drive our way to Tribhuvan Airport. 50 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj will take us to Nepalgunj Airport. As Nepalgunj is an industrial city that is located close to Nepal and India border. 2 hours of drive from Nepalgunj Airport takes us to Bardia National Park where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 4

    Walk in Bardia National Park (575 m/ 1886 ft)

    The dense forest of Bardia provides shelter to various rare and endangered floras and faunas. A guide will give you the tour of National Park. Always stay in a group and follow the instructions of your guide carefully. You can observe hog deer, hyena, one-horned rhinoceros, black buck, blue sheep and other mammals. In the evening, we will visit nearby Tharu community and participate in cultural show.

  • Day 5

    Jungle Safari in Bardia National Park (575 m/ 1886 ft)

    After an early morning breakfast, we will go for elephant riding. Elephant riding gives us benefit of height so that you can get better views of wild beasts from closer distance. After lunch, we will visit Visitor Center where we shall visit Crocodile Breeding Center. After visiting the center, we will take a tour to Tharu Cultural Museum to understand their lifestyle culture and tradition, and then return back to the lodge for eveningm dinner.

  • Day 6

    Drive from Karnali River to Nepalgunj Airport and Flight to Kathmandu (1310 m/ 4297 ft)

    We will visit Karnali River early in the morning to see dolphins, as only Karnali river provides the suitable habitat for dolphins in Nepal. We will then return back to the lodge for our lunch and drive our way to Nepalgunj Airport. From Nepalgunj Airport, we will catch our flight back to Kathmandu where you will be transferred back to the hotel.

  • Day 7

    Departure!!!!

    Our representative will transfer you to the Airport three hours prior to the scheduled flight. We hope you will have a memorable time in Nepal with us and we wish to serve you again.
